Beyond Conviction is an almost unbearably gripping and intimate film that documents a radical approach to criminal justice: mediation meetings between offenders and their victims or victim's family in which each side is given the opportunity to ex p ress long-brewing feelings with explosive, dramatic consequences. Three of these meetings are documented in the film in an American prison, all of which encompass serious crimes and all of which provide enormous psychological advantages for both parties.
