The brightest and bravest shorts in the land are on show across two screenings in the Film Festival's very popular annual Best of British selections. Highlights of the first screening include actor Paddy Considine's debut as a filmmaker with the powerful Dog Altogether, directing Peter Mullan as a man driven to self-destruction. The delightful animation Whale shows just what can happen when you find a huge sea mammal in your front garden. In the moving drama True Colours, a loving father struggles to earn his family's respect.
