A truly stunning and original debut based on the Old Norse 'Vinland Sagas' and full of pagan rituals, including church-burning and head-banging to metal! Set in the 11th Century to a soundtrack by musicians including Brian Eno, Judas Priest and Dimmu Borgir (Norway's finest!), and partially shot at the site of actual Viking settlements in Newfoundland, two accidentally stranded Norsemen are left to battle natives, the elements, Irish Monks and even each other in this strange new land. A real gem of an independent film - not just for the metal-heads and Old Norse scholars!
