'I wanted to make a tender film about the terror of loneliness' explains director Matthias Glasner, who has crafted an extraordinary film of both brutal intensity and emotional sensitivity. Theo, a rapist, has just been released from psychiatric detention. His fear of women and unfulfilled longing make his life within 'normal' society an unbearable ordeal. Nettie, meanwhile, finally succeeds in breaking away from her abusive father. Theo and Nettie meet and begin to fall in love. Together, they embark on a journey to the limits of free will.
