Young Baghdad film student Muthana Mohmed gets a brief shot at western fame in an MTV report, announcing his dream of becoming a filmmaker has been destroyed - first by Saddam Hussein, then by American bombs. Actor/director Liev Schreiber watches captivated then invites Muthana to Prague to work on his Everything is Illuminated filmset. But frustrated expectations strain relations between Iraqi and Americans on set, including Nina Davenport, director of this documentary and a complex dynamic reveals fascinating insights into manipulation and responsibility, post-war international relations and the art of filmmaking.
