It's easy to see why many consider Allan King to be Canada's finest documentary-maker as his camera unflinchingly observes a group of people in a home for the elderly as they battle with memory-loss and loneliness, with immense dignity and respect. This is a real accomplishment - we feel close to these people, and spend some time understanding and feeling what their lives are like, to better appreciate people with cognitive disorders and to hugely expand our perspective on humanity and identity. A truly first-rate documentary.
