An exceptionally special cinema experience not only because of the laugh out loud comic genius (top Chinese comedian Zhao Benshan), or the total credibility of a completely insane scenario (a farmer carrying his dead friend's corpse across China to get him home), but because 'Getting Home' does comedy so well that it transcends it, touching on the very real displacement and alienation in modern day China. In no way a depressing film, 'Getting Home' is fascinatingly uplifting, and tears of laughter mix with refreshing sincerity in this hugely enriching experience!
