Coca Lives is a fresh and original documentary which examines the real motives and consequences behind the U.S. backed campaign to wipe out the coca leaf culture. Using a unique blend of archive footage, cutting edge reportage and Bolivian childrens' drawings of armed conflict, director Roberto Lanza demonstrates that the ancient coca leaf customs should not be confused with cocaine use and drug dealing and that the anti-coca initiative is really part of a wider political movement which fails to recognise the rights of indigenous Bolivian communities.
