With a growing fascination for horror stories that infect Maly's imagination and nightmares he one day befriends a man in the woods with terrible burn scars. Their ensuing relationship runs parallel to Maly's blurring sense of reality and fantasy which is heightened by the disappearance of Maly's enemies who he believes have been killed by a legendary hyena.
