Film Festival Volunteers 2007

Volunteers wanted!
We are looking for people to come and join the dynamic Film Festival team to help deliver a truly spectacular 21st Leeds International Film Festival.
Being a volunteer of the Leeds International Film Festival involves being part of the team. You'll have responsibilities such as knowing the programme of the Film Festival inside out, being able to inform members of the public about what's on and where, and representing this brilliant cultural event that is challenging and inspiring and passionately promotes international films to a really diverse audience. We want you to transmit this passion for cinema and be able to communicate this to different kinds of people, helping to create a really original and thrilling Film Festival atmosphere! It's not just the films that make this Festival brilliant, it's you too – as a volunteer, you will have a huge impact on people's experiences, as well as having a darn good time!
In addition, your tasks will include:
• Supporting the Venue Coordinator, who will be your main point of reference and will be able to tell you what needs doing.
• Handing out and collecting audience response slips and questionnaires, and checking and tearing the tickets.
• Knowing the venue you're working at – where the cinema entrances and exits are, the toilets, the bars...
• Tidying up the venue before and after every screening.
Film Festival volunteers receive a number of benefits including:
• Free entry into every film and event you work on
• A film voucher for every shift you work, to be redeemed against selected films
• Invites to Film Festival parties
