Chased by bullies, daydreamer Bastian, aged 10, flees into a used book shop where a strange leather-bound book attracts him. The owner warns him away from it, saying that it's dangerous and that once you enter its world, the reader cannot escape. Bastian borrows the now irresistible book and reads in secret of a beautiful, land named Fantasia that is being destroyed by a terrible "Nothing". Bastian is taken deeper into the story, not realising that he, himself is being written into the book. It soon becomes clear that the only one who can save Fantasia is him! Classic 80's hero epic not to be missed.
