Film Acadey header

The Film Festival has a new educational year-round programme Film Academy, which has been inspired by the Film Festival workshop events and feedback from young people.

The young people involved in 2006 - 2007 programme got to meet the producers of Casino Royale, work alongside professional scriptwriters, editors, directors and filmmakers and gain an Arts Award qualification. On top of this they got to see some fantastic films including the world premiere of their own short films at an Oscars-like ceremony at Vue cinema.

The 2007-2008 programme is now under way, with the new cohort recently completing a week of filmmaking during the half-term holidays. Look out for the first screenings of ther films at the Leeds Young People's Film Festival during the Easter holidays next year.

If you or your teacher want to know how to get involved then e-mail adam.graham@leeds.gov.uk or call the Film Festival office on 0113 247 8398.
