Director Aysulu Onaran’s debut film is a striking, coming-of-age drama about teenage love in the face of stigma and danger.
Diagnosed with HIV as a child, sixteen year-old Ardak has lived a sheltered life in Kazakhstan with her mother, longingly dreaming of moving to Paris to become a fashion designer. But when she meets the alluring and adventurous Zhanna at a local charity for teenagers with HIV, an intense connection develops between them and soon they both begin to plan their escape to a more exciting future. However, when they plan to steal a prized falcon to fund their adventures, their budding relationship is put to the ultimate test as they try to steer themselves out of the growing danger that awaits them and confront the gap between dreams and reality.
