Both an affecting love story and the history of an iconic phase of the counter-culture, The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye is essential viewing. Ground-breaking performance artist and musical pioneer Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV) and his other half and collaborator, Lady Jaye embarked on a daring and controversial programme of sexual transformations for their ‘Pandrogyne’ project, literally undergoing surgery to become more like one another. Tragically Lady Jaye died in 2007, but Genesis openly and movingly tells their story.
