Mining the Memories is a series of short films made by the Northern Film School and people in Yorkshire who experienced the Miners’ Strike of 1984/5. In workshops led by Northern Film School staff, participants explored ideas around what the strike meant to them, then and now, and then turned those ideas into scripts. The result is eight films including live action, animation and two documentaries, one about the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign and the other about Goldthorpe Community Shop. The films were crewed by NFS students, alumni and staff.
