This is what Peeping Tom might look like if it were directed by Michael Haneke. Loner Sylvain’s beloved arthouse cinema, which is also his home, is about to be closed down. As obsessed with films as he is with blood, every night after the cinema closes Sylain unleashes his anger in acts of extreme violence. As static cameras shoot his murderous activity in long takes, sometimes with extreme gore, sometimes only with the most harrowing off-screen screams, the Last Screening treads the line between horror and arthouse cinema just like Sylvain himself. Screening at Hyde Park, which is eerily like Sylvain’s Picture House!
