The Swiss fable of the Sennentuntsci tells of a woman created from straw who is made flesh by the devil to do her creators’ bidding. All goes well until they mistreat her and she takes her bloody revenge. Here, director Michael Seiner adds his own twist to the tale, tranposing the action to a remote Alpine village in the 1970s. When a strange mute girl wanders into the village the residents are convinced that she is evil, possessed by the devil. Only the local policeman is prepared to help and care for her. As his investigation as to her identity progresses, her prescence leads to mistrust, violence and an ultimately shocking climax.
Director Michael Seiner is attending the following screenings: Sunday 13th November, 1pm, Vue 1 and Monday 14th November, 4pm, Vue1
