Fanomenon Anime Day 2014 with Ghost in the Shell + Grave of the Fireflies on new digital prints

Today is Fanomenon Anime Day 2014, which features a both cyberpunk classic Ghost in the Shell and Studio Ghibli masterpiece Grave of the Fireflies on brand new digital cinema prints.

The line-up for this year’s Fanomenon Anime Day includes two new action-packed and visually spectacular features – the first Dragonball Z feature film for 17 years, Battle of Gods, and a prequel to the Appleseed movie from the original’s director. Short Peace is a unique collection of anime shorts from different directors including the legendary Katsuhiro Ôtomo (Akira). The award-winning Giovanni’s Island is a moving story of childhood innocence amid political conflict, based on real events. The finale of the Anime Day is a double bill of two masterpieces, both screening on new digital cinema prints: Ghost in the Shell and Grave of the Fireflies.

4.15pm – Giovanni’s Island

6.45pm – Ghost in the Shell

8.45pm – Grave of the Fireflies

Tickets are available on the door, and a full pass is £25 full / £20 concession / Free with LIFF28 Pass, or tickets for individual films can be purchased for £8 full / £6 concession.
