At Leeds Young Film Festival this Easter there is a weekend-full of wonderful hands-on animation experiences including Toy Stories, the Family Animation Zone, and Aardman Model Making

Toy Stories Animation Weekend, 30th March to 2nd April, Carriageworks Theatre

Enter our magical studio bedroom where toys can come alive. Long before Pixar, animators have been fascinated with the ability to bring inanimate objects to life. What adventures will the toys get up to when you leave the bedroom? Join other young animators as you create a film over 3 days. Book on as many sessions as you like over the weekend to see your toy story unfold. Bring your own toys to put into the story or use the ones provided.

Family Animation Zone, 30th March to 2nd April, Leeds City Museum

The Family Animation Zone is a place to try out four different types of stop motion animation, so it’s perfect for beginners and budding animators alike. It’s a family friendly area where you can build LEGO sets, design toy armatures, mould an Early Man character or animate a traditional 2D film. Spend as much time at each animation station as you want and once you are happy with your creations you can move to the film sets to make your own mini movie.
