Preview of Radioactive + Satellite Q&A
Sunday 8 March, 1.30pm at Everyman Leeds, Harrogate & York + The Light Cinema Bradford
From the 1870s to the modern era, Radioactive is a journey through Marie Curie’s enduring legacies – her passionate relationships, scientific breakthroughs, and the consequences that followed for her and for the world. The screening is followed by a Q&A with leading star Rosamund Pike and director Marjane Satrapi (Persepolis). 

Feminista Film Festival, UK Tour
Sunday 8 March, 4pm at Square Chapel, Halifax
Friday 13 March, 7.30pm at Otley Courthouse
Touring around various venues in the UK, Feminista Film Festival aims to connect audiences to some of the most exciting female role models. With eight short documentary films showcasing inspiring women and girls from around the world. 

Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché + Algie, The Miner
Sunday 8 March 12.10pm at Science and Media Museum, Bradford
Alice Guy-Blaché was the first female filmmaker and a pioneer in narrative film. Documentary Be Natural reveals a remarkable woman almost erased from film history. Accompanied by a screening of her short film Algie, The Miner (1912).

Maiden

Sunday 8 March, 5pm at Cinemarts Cafe, York 
The documentary Maiden tells the story of Tracy Edwards, a 24-year-old cook on charter boats, who became the skipper of the first ever all-female crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1989.

LIFF Presents: Preview of The Perfect Candidate
Wednesday 11 March, 6pm at Everyman Leeds
Haifaa Al Mansour is Saudi Arabia's first female filmmaker and her acclaimed feature Wadjda was the first ever shot entirely inside the country. The Perfect Candidate stars Mila Al Zahrani as a doctor at a struggling clinic who runs for Municipal Council.


LIFF Presents: Preview of Misbehaviour + Q&A
Wednesday 11 March, 8pm at Everyman Leeds
Leeds Film and Women in Film & TV Leeds present an exclusive preview of the eagerly anticipated new British comedy drama Misbehaviour, followed by a Q&A with Leeds-based co-writer Gaby Chiappe hosted by Lisa Holdsworth, chair of Writers’ Guild of Great Britain.

LIFF Presents: Preview of Proxima

INDIs Movie Nights: Bend It Like Beckham
Thursday 12 March, 7pm at The Carriageworks, Leeds
A girl bends the rules, to reach her goal, in professional soccer. But her traditional parents refuse to even consider it and want her to hang up her football boots, find a nice boy and learn to cook. This months’ INDIs Movie Night we’re screening the classic Bend It Like Beckham, where you can put your footie skills to the test in our penalty shootout before the film!

Holly Lunch MP Presents On the Basis of Sex

Raising money for the Calderdale and Kirklees Women Centre, Holly Lynch MP for Halifax presents this screening of On The Basis of Sex the story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg's career struggles and fight for gender equality.

The New Women of Gaza + Talk by Nawal Slemiah

The New Women of Gaza follows five women who are doing their utmost to make a difference in Gaza – in medicine, social work, photojournalism, music and local government. Plus talk by Nawal Slemiah, Founder of the Women in Hebron Co-operative.

Greta Gerwig's debut feature as writer and director is a charming coming-of-age comedy drama starring Saoirse Ronan and Timothee Chalamet. A high school student in California dreams of moving to the East Coast as she approaches graduation.
