Leeds Young Film Festival is back this Easter, welcoming families to watch, learn and play together at the UKs largest family film event! Over 15,000 children and their families will be entertained from 28 March to 5 April 2018, as they explore the worlds of film, animation and virtual reality. There will be film screenings, live shows, workshops and drop-in sessions in our four festival zones across the city, including boredom-busting activities for all budgets - from £3 film tickets and fantastic value family passes, to some events that are completely FREE!

Our aim is to make screen time shared time with family favourites and brand new features in the Reel Kids film programme; learn and play with LEGO, Minecraft, Disney and more at Animation Central; and visit the UKs first family-focused virtual reality event, as the FREE Virtual Reality Zone returns in 2018, to The Carriageworks.

Now in its 19th year, LYFF features a programme of the best new and unseen cinema for young people from around the world, made both for and by young people, as well as classic screenings, moving-image related workshops and masterclasses. Leeds Young Film Festival works closely with a group of young consultants aged 15-25 called MediaFish, who help programme, design and deliver the festival, making films and shaping the strategy of Leeds Young Film.

The full programme is announced at the end of February, so keep your eyes peeled! For the latest updates, follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, where you will find exclusive content and the chance to win some amazing #LYFF2018 prizes!
