The programme for LIFF26 will go live to coincide with our big launch on the evening of Friday 5h October. There will also be limited copies of our free, 92 page LIFF26 guide available with screenings. The launch takes place in Leeds Town Hall’s magnificent Victoria Hall this year as part of Light Night, and will feature a free screening of Sound of Noise, a massive hit with audiences at last year’s festival. We will present a Special Preview of the 26th Leeds International Film Festival at 7pm, with trailers from some of the line-up highlights. Sound of Noise will be screened at 8.30pm.
Sound of Noise is a delightful crowd-pleasing musical crime comedy from Sweden. Police Officer Warnebring suffers from a hatred of all music and his life is thrown into chaos when he is assigned to his first sonic crime spree. A band of outlaw musicians are causing havoc with shock guerilla gig tactics using anything in their path as instruments. After failing to prevent their hospital invasion and hip-hop bank heist, Warnebring is determined to silence the band’s biggest musical assault yet in the name of anarchy and freedom, using the entire city as their orchestra.
See the trailer for Sound of Noise here. Entry will be free on the night and no tickets are required.
