We will be showcasing the best of this year’s Short Film City programme section which is dedicated to the short film form including international and UK competitions. The event will include the best little gems of world filmmaking on Thursday 2nd December at 6pm in Leeds Town Hall as a part of Leeds Film Quarter. The showcase will include the International Short Film Competition winner, Deeper Than Yesterday and the Yorkshire Short Film Competition winner, The Astronomer’s Sun.
Deeper Than Yesterday is an Australian short following the life of Oleg and two others who have found themselves submerged under water for 3 months and have become savages. Described by the Short Film City jury as ‘masterfully executed’, Deeper Than Yesterday showcases the compelling cinematography found in this year’s selection of short films.
The award winning Astronomer’s Sun is a magical journey exploring relationships and what it is to be human. The ‘beautifully crafted’ stop motion animation is an example of the wonderful short films currently being made in the region. There will also be many more examples of the short film form guiding you through a maze of emotions.
If you didn’t have chance to make it to any of the Short Film City events during the Film Festival, don’t miss the opportunity to see some of the fantastic short films that have delighted audiences this year.
