The life of a fiercely independent club singer in Kinshasa is turned upside down when her teenage son suffers a horrific and expensive accident. Proud of her independence, she’s forced to swallow her pride and run through the list of possible donors to help her cause. This quest sends her on a fastpaced journey through the streets of the Congolese capital. Winner of the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize at the Berlin Film Festival, this fourth feature from Senegalese-French filmmaker Alain Gomis is steeped in visual and musical lyricism.
