The stunningly bleak Icelandic landscapes are the perfect backdrop for Rift’s themes of loneliness, lost love and betrayal. Months after their break up, Gunnar receives a strange late night phone call from his ex-boyfriend, Einar. Concerned for his wellbeing Gunnar drives up to the secluded cabin in a remote part of Iceland where Einar is staying. In this isolated wilderness the two men try to come to terms with their broken relationship, dredging up painful memories and ghosts of the past. Meanwhile, outside the cabin an unseen presence seems to be lurking, creating a sense of foreboding and unease.
