Our first international programme is, quite simply, incandescent: a farmer toils in the scorching Portuguese heat; a Turkish single mother begins to simmer and boil amid an overload of pressure and self-help manuals; a Swedish girl feels the pressure mount in her deeply intense therapy session; an American girl is stuck in a broken down car, grappling with repressed feelings; and we encounter a deranged, genre-destroying ride through Berlin; before closing with the reunion of childhood friends during the annual Hindu festival of Durga Puja.
