We're curating special programmes of short films available free online to share with you while we all miss going to the cinema...

Our fourth programme is a collection of 11 short films made in Leeds, all about or featuring the amazing people of the city - a community of individual personalities, coming together to present their stories, which become part of our own. The films have been selected from our very popular Yorkshire Shorts Competition or from the work of filmmakers we have featured before at LIFF.

"City life is millions of people being lonesome together.” - Henry David Thoreau. Affectionately local, unapologetically political, happily confrontational, compassionately creative, deeply supportive, movingly loving - these insightful and warming films represent everything that makes the city of Leeds what it is.

This selection features a collaboration of chip shop owners, boxers, knitters, actors, poets, Seagulls… It also includes a great documentary from last year by Leeds’ award-winning theatre company Slung Low, whose new film The Good Book is released online on 1st May.

We’ve curated this 70-minute programme to be watched in order, or you can simply dip into whatever story takes your fancy! All the films are free-to-view and can be accessed from via the individual film pages below.
