Welcome to our very first Movie Club, a chance for you to come and see films at the cinema with your mates or your brothers and sisters, or even on your own - with the Leeds Young Film team to look after you. We know that you can't do this in a regular cinema but Leeds Young Film Festival is no ordinary cinema.

We want you to be part of our team, helping us find the best films and spread the word about them. So, as part of your Movie Club session, you'll get a chance to talk to us about the film you've watched and tell us what you thought.

The LYFF Movie Club also includes a workshop in our Animation Station, with professional animators Dawn and Zoe. Get hands-on with Lego or plasticine and create characters to star in a group animation which you can share with your friends & family later. You can even have a go at designing your very own flip book which you can take home with you at the end of the day.

Movie Club sessions include two films plus animation workshop, running from Monday 3 April to Thursday 6 April at Carriageworks Theatre. See the film pages for more details about individual films.

Movie Club PM (age 10-13)

Movie Club AM is for ages 7 - 10 and Movie Club PM is for ages 10 - 13. Children aged 10 or older could come to both AM and PM sessions but the films in the morning are aimed at a younger age range, so check the trailers.

We are happy for you to come to Movie Club as a group, either with people from your family or your friends. Let us know if there is a group of 10 or more of you as we will offer a discount. You will need to bring a packed lunch/tea with you for your session, please no nuts and also nothing breakable e.g glass bottles.

As Leeds Young Film will be responsible for your child/ward, we will need you to complete a consent and emergency information form which will be sent to you in advance of Movie Club. You are not permitted to stay with your child/ward if they are part of Movie Club. You can still purchase individual tickets for films that are part of Movie Club. The animation workshop is only available for Movie Club members.
