“Christophe Rolin delivers a classic yet moving debut feature film, charting the initiatory journey of a young Belgian of African descent who sets off in search of herself to her parents’ homeland” - Aurore Engelen, Cineuropa
Talia is a young Belgian woman who travels to her ancestral home in Senegal for the first time to connect with the extended family she's never met. Staying in a luxury villa with her privileged cousin Binta, it isn’t too long before she is restless to explore beyond the walls of the villa and discover more about her roots. Enter Malika, a working-class street seller who shows Talia a different city to the one she’d imagined, making her start to question her own identity and role within this new world.
