Part of the Summer Series, Millennium Square's annual concert series of outdoor gigs from world-renowned blockbuster acts and emerging artists.

Paris Stories

Celebrate the Paris Olympics with our Paris Stories film series at Cinema on the Square. We've curated a selection of films that capture the rich diversity of Paris, from the enchanting romance and magic of the City of Light to the raw, energetic vibes of its concrete suburbs and alternative music scenes. Join us for this unique opportunity to see films made in or inspired by Paris in the epic outdoor setting of Millennium Square on a giant screen with a concert sound system.
Classic Concerts

Our Classic Concerts series captures the raw energy and excitement of live performance, through two of the most acclaimed concert films of all time. Experience the brand-new digital restoration of Talking Heads unforgettable stage show, Stop Making Sense, shot over four nights of their live tour in 1983. Featuring early hits like Psycho Killer to the rapturous version of Al Green’s Take Me to the River with full band and backing choir. We will also be screening Amazing Grace, two days of gospel performances by Aretha Franklin at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Watts, Los Angeles captured by a film crew led by Sydney Pollack. The film was only completed in 2018 when it was released to universal acclaim. Experience both films on our outdoor concert stage screen and transport yourself back in time to feel like you're really in the audiences of these must-see live shows.

In partnership with Leeds Young Film Festival (LYFF), we proudly present a selection of our favourite family films on the big screen. Paul King, the director and co-writer of the Paddington films, breathes life into another whimsical world with Wonka, a prequel to Roald Dahl’s beloved story. Following its huge success at LYFF 2024, enjoy a special concert-style, outdoor singalong version of Encanto, the enchanting Disney animation featuring an irresistible soundtrack by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
