The deadline to apply to volunteer is 20:00 on Wednesday 28th September. You will hear back regarding your application from the week commencing 3rd October.

We are looking for people to join the LIFF 2022 volunteer team who:

  • are passionate about film, especially world cinema;
  • are reliable and available across at least four different days from 3 to 17 November 2022;
  • enjoy being part of a team and collaborating with others;
  • are driven to help make LIFF one of the best annual experiences for audiences in the UK.

The benefits of being part of the LIFF 2022 volunteer team will include:

  • the chance to be among the first in the UK to see acclaimed new films;
  • four free tickets for LIFF 2022 screenings plus access to selected films on Leeds Film Player;

The volunteer roles at LIFF 2022 are:

Venue Assistants These volunteers help to run individual festival screenings, leading on ushering and assisting Venue Coordinators with scanning tickets and reporting technical faults at screenings. A passion for cinema and excellent customer service skills are a must!

Film Festival Runners These volunteers take on a wide variety of tasks to help the smooth running and operation of the film festival. An ability to think on your feet and boundless energy are required.

We are also looking for specialist Volunteers to join our Digital Content Team. Digital Content volunteers will work closely with our Communications Team during the festival to help create content and promote the festival. Digital Content Team volunteers must have access to their own equipment.

Film Crew We are looking for production teams/individuals who can cover film festival events and create promotional material for the festival. It's a great way to experience special events and behind the scenes whilst capturing the vibe of the festival. 

Photographers You will cover a range of screenings, Q&As and other events. You will create a selection of photographs to be used in social media, publications and promotions.

Social Media Content Creators You will use your phone to create content for our Instagram, Twitter and TikTok accounts, be able to take photos/videos of the action and produce snappy and engaging copy.

Edit Assistants You will be responsible for transferring footage and content from other digital teams, edit clips and highlights to be featured on our online platforms and help manage our digital assets. Equipment can be provided for this role.
