A remarkable and candid documentary by BAFTA-winning director Victoria Mapplebeck, chronicling 20 years as a single mother raising her son Jim.

Created from hundreds of hours of footage filmed on evolving generations of technology from DVCAM to iPhone 15, Motherboard follows the lives of the director and her son through pivotal and incidental moments, from baby scans and college days to a breast cancer diagnosis and casual conversations. A deeply self-reflective cinematic journal, Motherboard is defined by its openness, humour, and intimate exploration of life's unpredictable journey.

"Tender, intimate, funny and entirely absorbing - it has marvellous humanity and warmth” - Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
