If you're 16-19 years old, enthusiastic about film and want to learn the skills, knowledge and contacts to bring your stories to life then this is your chance to break into film.
Now in its 14th year, our fully accessible course includes sessions delivered by expert industry mentors, hands-on filmmaking experience and the chance to meet and collaborate with like-minded aspiring filmmakers.
BFI Film Academy Short Courses offer training for every role involved in filmmaking. You will be making a short film from start to finish, including writing, producing, editing and presenting your work on the big screen.
Applications will close midnight, Thursday 25 September 2025.

Costs
Short courses are free, however there are bursaries available if child care/travel costs are an issue.
