Introducing LIFF Presents - our new programme bringing you the best in film with features and screenings all year-round.

Faces Places sees iconic filmmaker Agnès Varda forging an unexpected collaboration with photographer JR as they embark on a road trip like no other as we introduce the first of our year-round programme LIFF Presents in Everyman Cinema’s Screen 3.

Agnès Varda, the veteran French-Belgian documentary-maker and the grande dame of the French New Wave, now at the age of 90, rediscovers her legacy with Faces Places - a documentary, winner of the L'Œil d'or award at 2017 Cannes Film Festival brought to us by Curzon Artificial Eye.

The film follows Varda and JR, the French muralist and photographer who is 65 years her junior, travelling around rural France, creating portraits of the people they come across. Faces Places is a deeply charming and life-affirming look at not only the subtle power of community, but the inspiration that comes from the most cross-generational of friendships.

Faces Places will be showing at 6pm, Thu 13 Sept at Everyman Cinema Screen 3. Tickets are £9 / £7.50 concessions. Click here to book.

Also, to launch the INDIs new monthly screenings aimed at those aged 15-25, we’re bringing you the much adored, Oscar and BAFTA winning Call Me By Your Name by director Luca Guadagnino.

Set in 1980's Italy, Call Me By Your Name tells of the blossoming romance between seventeen year-old student Elio (Timothée Chalamet) and Oliver (Armie Hammer), an older man hired as his father's research assistant. The film is a sensual and transcendent tale of first love, based on the acclaimed novel by André Aciman, with beautiful, moving performances from both actors that deserves to be seen on the big screen.

Part of the INDIs screening programme, Call Me By Your Name will be showing at 7pm, Wed 19 Sep at Carriageworks. Tickets are £3. Click here to book.
