Leeds International Film Festival, Pictureville Cinema, and UK-China Film Collab present The World of Suzie Wong.

Leeds International Film Festival, in partnership with Pictureville Cinema and UK-China Film Collab, is thrilled to announce a screening of the timeless classic The World of Suzie Wong on June 16 at Pictureville Cinema, giving audience members the opportunity to delve into the cross-cultural narrative that still sparks conversations decades after its original release in 1960.

An iconic piece of cinema that explores themes of love, cultural contrast, and understanding, The World of Suzie Wong is celebrated for its engaging story line, first-class performances and its vivid portrayal of mid-20th century Hong Kong.

The screening is part of a broader programme presented by the UK-China Film Collab that will highlight the rich tapestry of UK and Chinese cinematic collaborations. It will be screened alongside the short film Ashes, written by Siwei Li & Daniel J Egbert and produced by Xue 'Sophie' Hou.

The UK-China Film Collab was set up to inspire and invent film related collaboration and cutting edge debate between the UK and Greater China. This exclusive screening forms part of Odyssey: A Chinese Cinema Season, a UK based independent film festival with 60+ films, masterclasses, 10 discussion panels and exclusive Q&As highlighting the richness and diversity of Chinese cinema. This year's edition runs from 26 May - 30 June and features ‘Global Sustainability’ as its key theme with the festival programme comprising both online & offline screenings.
