A young refugee chases his rap dreams in this rousing autobiographical feature from the Central African Republic.

Robert balances making music with hiding his identity and raising his siblings while his parents are imprisoned. During the day, he muddles through school whilst writing poetry, then at night hustles his way through vibrant nightclubs. Inspired by Rafiki Fariala’s own life, Congo Boy is a joyous, crowd-pleasing film about following your dreams in the toughest of circumstances.

"A stirring musical drama, this Cannes Un Certain Regard entry beats with the rhythms of resilience." — Murtada Elfadl, Variety
