Simmering tensions bring shocking consequences in a gripping human story filmed in West Yorkshire and featuring striking performances from Brenda Blethyn and Andrea Riseborough.

Neglected pensioner Elsie (Brenda Blethyn) finds an unexpected ally in her younger neighbour Colleen (Andrea Riseborough). Their new friendship brings brighter days for both of them, but their relationship starts to change when Elsie’s son John (Jason Watkins) shows concern about Colleen. Dragonfly is the latest film from award-winning filmmaker Paul Andrew Williams who also directed the recent accalimed TV series Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes.

The screening on Sat 1 Nov will be introduced by Caroline Cooper Charles from Screen Yorkshire and be followed by a Q&A with director Paul Andrew Williams.

"A stark, fierce, wonderfully acted film." — Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
