Two Nigerian migrants dream of a future beyond confinement in Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor’s stunning debut.

After two years undocumented, Isio is detained at Hatchworth Removal Centre, facing deportation. There she meets Farah, a bold roommate who challenges her faith in the system. Their friendship deepens into love, offering hope amid despair. When Isio’s asylum plea is denied, they must decide between submission and escape in this timely drama of resilience and freedom.

The screening on Sat 8 Nov will have a Q&A with director Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor, with BSL interpretation by Vicci Ackroyd.

"Gharoro-Akpojotor’s powerful debut feature is the type of story the world needs most right now. It’s the type of compassionate, personal filmmaking that allows people to see the Isios and Farahs of the world in a completely different light." — Hayley Croke, Loud and Clear
