Shana

Eva Huault electrifies as the irrepressible Shana in Lila Pinell’s freewheeling, high-energy debut.

Reeling from her grandmother’s death, Shana inherits a ring said to protect her from bad luck, just as her toxic partner is released from prison and her troubles begin to multiply. Blending social realism with sharp comedy and adding propulsive tension, Pinell crafts a vibrant, unpredictable character study, driven by Huault’s charismatic performance and Shana’s defiant swagger.

"An endearing feminist portrait that scratches beneath the surface of society in search of truth." — Fabien Lemercier, Cineuropa
