Bradford Filmmaker Nominated for a BAFTA Following LIFF Win

Bradford filmmaker Jordon Scott Kennedy has been nominated for a BAFTA Television Award for his short film Rocket Fuel which won the Yorkshire Film Competition at LIFF 2025, presented in partnership with VERSA Leeds Studios.

Rocket Fuel is a kitchen-sink science-fiction comedy following two kids who turn an abandoned car into a DIY spaceship on their estate. Written and directed by Jordon Scott Kennedy and produced by Casey Shaw, the film was made with Fully Focused Productions in association with Slick Films as part of the BBC Comedy Short programme, with support from the Slick Films Fund.

The nomination reflects the strength of independent filmmaking continuing to emerge from Yorkshire. The winner will be announced on Sunday 10 May at a televised ceremony hosted by comedian Greg Davies and broadcast on BBC One.
