Martha Cattell (she/they)
Programme and Outreach Officer / Programmer, Features
Martha works across arts and film, as a curator, programmer and artist. Their work focuses on sustainable practices, community engagement and DIY ethics. They have worked with multiple film organisations including Glasgow Short Film Festival, Gateway Film Festival and Hebden Bridge Film Festival. They have also undertaken various art commissions and residencies largely around eco film and photography.
Other work has included setting up Scarborough Film Festival last year, delivering heritage lottery funded project ‘Nature Matters’ for the Yorkshire and North East Film Archives and completing a PhD on the visual and material culture of the whaling industry. They are particularly interested in making film more accessible and environmentally sustainable both in terms of programming and delivery.
