Volunteer for Leeds Young Film Festival

Volunteer applications for Leeds Young Film Festival 2026 are now open.

Taking place every Easter (March 28th – 19th April), Leeds Young Film Festival (LYFF) is an annual celebration of cinema for children and families. The festival features a curated selection of family-friendly feature and short films, alongside workshops, masterclasses, and hands-on filmmaking activities to inspire and develop young talent.

Workshop Assistants

Workshop Assistant volunteers help run festival events and the VR Cinema at Leeds Young Film Festival. Volunteers will be assisting with workshops, activities for families, ushering, assisting film festival staff, monitoring the VR Cinema and giving out surveys. This role is great for people with a passion for film, excellent customer service skills and an interest in working with young people.

Our venues include Hyde Park Picture House, The Carriageworks, Leeds City Museum, and the National Science & Media Museum.
