A Man of His Time

A distinctly ambitious and visually contemporary award-winning drama, set in 1940s Nazi-occupied France.

Henri Marre arrives alone in the city of Vichy with a determination to help save France. He is willing to do whatever he believes is needed, but in doing so he may also be driving his own ruin. Drawn from the director’s own family history, A Man of His Time grapples between the personal and political in this highly original and thought-provoking film.

"If Jonathan Glazer's The Zone of Interest (2023) is about the banality of evil, A Man of His Time is about the evil of banality" — Thomas Flew, Sight and Sound
