Atlantic Rhapsody

A rare chance to see the first Faroese-produced feature film, Katrin Ottarsdóttir’s inventive debut takes us through 24 hours in Tórshavn, the world’s smallest capital.

Moving nimbly between 52 interconnected vignettes, the film follows the city’s inhabitants through everyday encounters, comic mishaps and unexpected moments of magic, all with a largely non-professional cast. Funny, whimsical and brimming with life, Atlantic Rhapsody builds into an affectionate portrait of a city and its people.

“A thoughtful and entertaining patchwork portrait of her fellow islanders, full of wit, humanity and cheerfully surreal irony.” — Kläre Warnecke, Die Welt
