This breathtaking thriller sweeps through the backrooms and corridors of Brussels’ Heysel Stadium during the tragic incident at the 1985 European Cup Final, which killed 39 people.

With great sensitivity and political nuance, the film splices actual historical footage with convincing period detail and peerless sound design. In classic disaster movie style, we are introduced to a cross section of contrasting characters, all of whom are drawn into the heart of the tragedy.

"Heysel 85 successfully brings to life the drama unfolding behind what quickly resembles a war zone, dissecting how this disaster was not an unfortunate accident but the predictable result of a host of dysfunctions." — Laura Della Corte, The Upcoming
