La Gradiva

A rowdy group of French teenagers embark on a field trip to Pompeii, where their desires, passions and tensions reveal themselves against the ruins of the past.

As their trip to Naples progresses, the dynamics of the group shift, revealing the economic realities that structure their lives. With a visual poetry reminiscent of Alice Rohrwacher’s La Chimera, Marine Atlan’s film is an entrancing debut feature which captures the spirit and fantasy of youth and the often-devastating pressure of coming-of-age.

"Simply one of the most piercingly accurate and immersive portrayals ever, of that fleeting moment when you are simultaneously the most forcibly socialized and possibly the loneliest you will ever be." — Jessica Kiang, Variety
