Like a Fortress

In this raw and deeply intimate film, Lou Colpé turns the camera on her own experience of grief following the sudden loss of her partner.

Returning to the home they shared, she finds refuge in its familiar spaces as life quietly continues around her. Told through on-screen text and gentle observations of friends, objects and changing seasons, this moving, diaristic documentary transforms the house into a sanctuary of memory and survival.

"This intimate, generous documentary accurately depicts what we do to survive until we become able to really live again." — Aurore Engelen, Cineuropa
