Cinema Versa
We open Cinema Versa with the UK premiere of The Shepherd and the Bear, a beautifully shot film made on the frontline of the rewilding project in the French Pyrenees. Environmental themes recur throughout Cinema Versa, from a group of schoolkids uncovering a toxic waste dumping scandal in Middletown, to the first American climate change refugees in Lowland Kids. We have UK premieres of Maciej Drygas’s extraordinary collage film Trains, Yalla Parkour about Palestinian resistance on the streets of Gaza, One of Us about LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers, and a tremendous survey of the new generation of Irish folk musicians in Celtic Utopia. We close with the UK Premiere of the latest from the legendary Werner Herzog as he pursues Ghost Elephants in Southern Africa.
