Playtime is Jacques Tati’s gloriously inventive satire of modernity, and a portrait of a city in motion.

As the bewildered Monsieur Hulot navigates a futuristic Paris of glass, gadgets and labyrinthine offices, he becomes entangled with a group of equally disoriented characters. Almost entirely wordless and packed with meticulously choreographed visual humour, Tati’s expansive widescreen spectacle turns the modern world into an absurd playground.

"For my money Playtime is the greatest film ever made." — David Jenkins, Little White Lies
