Introducing the industry professionals who will be judging the INDIs 2023 Short Film Competition!

The INDIs Short Film Competition was open to filmmakers aged 15 to 25, in three separate age categories, to celebrate the best of emerging film talent.  

The selected films will be screened on Wednesday 22 February before the INDIs Awards 2023 on Saturday 25 February. Here our Jury will announce the winners for each category and provide valuable feedback on each project, streamed LIVE on our channels.

Sophie Duncan 
Industry Programme Producer at Sheffield DocFest
Festival Producer & Programmer at Women X 
Sophie Duncan (she/her) is Industry Programme Producer at Sheffield DocFest, where she has worked in various roles since 2018. She is also Festival Producer & Programmer at Women X, a festival which uplifts women and gender nonconforming filmmakers. Sophie has experience in documentary markets, event producing, programming, and talent development. Previously, she has worked at festivals including IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam), London Short Film Festival, Open City Documentary Festival, Leeds International Film Festival and BFI Flare.

 


Sam Fray
Talent Development for TriForce Creative Network
Founder of Boujie Media
Sam Fray works across Talent Development for TriForce Creative Network and is also a freelance programme manager for TV schemes. Sam's passion is creating a diverse and inclusive industry and also a bit of a TV and Film addict. Always open to connecting with Talent!

 


Rad Miller
Creative Director at Pocket Projects
Rad Miller is a writer/director and founder of award winning Leeds based production company Pocket Projects which is a leading producer of short form documentaries, promos and shorts. Since 2006 it has created content for a wide range of high profile clients within the UK Broadcast, Arts, Education and Public sector. 
With a flair for telling highly imaginative stories his films are typically allegorical & centre on universal themes such as fear, alienation, friendship, love & hate. He is dedicated to making quirky & inventive fantasy films set in the real world. 

 


Martin Corner
Course Leader for Creative Digital Media (TV/Film)
Martin Corner has worked in further education since 2014 covering a wide range of roles and responsibilities but always with a focus on the student experience. He's developed a number of curricula based on this idea with various awarding bodies. His favorite part his job is helping students with the creative process, developing ideas and watching what young people can produce.

Tajpal Rathore is an actor, writer, producer, presenter and dramaturg who previously worked in TV and film for ten years before moving into theatre in 2013, when he founded Tribe Arts, an award-winning, philosophically inspired, radical-political, actor-led theatre and media production company based in Leeds.
